Introduction 
Located high in the Catskill Mountains on a 250-acre private lake in Forestburgh, New York, the Inn at Lake Joseph has been hosting guests as a luxury bed and breakfast from the New York metropolitan area and from around the world since 1984. It is truly an inn for all seasons.
Like resort lodging, the Inn provides a variety of summer and winter recreational facilities, including the use of a nearby full-service health and fitness spa. But unlike larger hotels, the Inn, with just 16 guestrooms, is an informal, casual bed and breakfast-style country retreat that assures guests a relaxing and private getaway in a rustic mountain lake environment.
Recreational activities at the Inn include fishing, kayaking, boating, tennis, swimming, cross-country skiing, and showshoeing. Hiking trails, spectacular scenes of lakes and rivers, and views of majestic peaks and isolated waterfalls abound. Located in Sullivan County and in close proximity to Orange County as well as Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, the Inn at Lake Joseph features the best the Catskills have to offer.
Breakfast is served on the screened veranda, surrounding guests with the sounds and feel of the lush green forest. When glassed in during winter, guests experience the beauty of a surrounding snowscape.
Over the years, the Inn has received various awards and has been praised in travel articles and publications, as well as by guests themselves on Trip Advisor, for its sumptuous accommodations. The Inn, nestled within the surrounding forest and a short walk to the lake, consists of three distinct dwellings. The Lodge has a casual English Country environment and, for more rustic accommodations, the Adirondack-style Cottage and Carriage House guestrooms have their own private entrances, where pets are welcome. All guestrooms have working fireplaces, whirlpool baths, and private sundecks.
Very much like the Berkshires, White Mountains, Adirondacks, and Poconos, the Catskill Mountains surrounding the Inn offer breathtaking views and idyllic natural scenery. However, unlike these other regions, the Inn and the Catskills are no more than 2 hours from New York City.
