Rafting on the Delaware is fun for
novices and families; no experience necessary. You start your day with a
hearty, county-style breakfast at the Inn at Lake Joseph. After a short ride
to Base Camp on the Delaware River, you receive pre-trip instructions and
river orientation. Then you're driven upriver with raft and gear, and you're
on your way. You ride the whitewater and find cool wet fun as your adventure
begins. The occasional calm pools offer time for you to lie back, sunbathe,
take a dip in the crystal clear water and enjoy the sights and sounds of
nature.

a stretch of secluded shoreline or on an island, then paddle beneath cliffs
and spectacular rock formations as you take in the breath-taking panorama
of the near wilderness environment of the Catskill and Pocono Mountains. |
| As the day draws to an end, the
sun sinks low into the western sky. You can just make out Base Camp coming
into view down river as you slowly paddle in. Back at the Inn you look forward
to a delicious dinner, but first, you slowly lower yourself into an inviting,
private whirlpool bath overlooking the surrounding forest, and reflect on
your adventure. |
